Fen lake is the original lake with 20 pegs and stuffed with Carp and Ide. The Carp average 2-3lb but there are some huge fish to 16lb. On average the match weights go from 150lb up to almost 400lb.  There is a net limit of 50lb per net for the carp in matches so plenty of nets are needed for the big weights. Spare nets can be loaned by the fishery if you don't have enough. The favourite methods for big weights are, margin fishing with 4mm expander pellet over fishery micro feed pellets, this is where the big weights are caught. In the cooler months a feeder or bomb thrown to the island generates plenty of bites. Long pole fished shallow is also another good method, feeding little and often this method can produce up to 300lb.

The Ide are about 1-1.5lb each and although there are loads in there it's hard to target them with the amount of carp present. If you can get through the carp you can manage anything up to 150lb of the bars of silver, maggot fished on the long pole seems to be the best method for these and the pegs between 9 and 13 seem to be the best areas. Please ensure to net all your fish and handle them safely, please do not handle them in a dry cloth as this can and will damage the fish.

 

The New Lake is a recent addition to the fishery. This lake has a sunken Island that has been planted with vegetation which will eventually grow and look stunning. The fish are more mixed in here and small carp, crusians, tench, skimmers, rudd, roach and chub are the target species. This lake is to be a pleasure lake offering people a place to fish when the other lake is matched up. Already it has been throwing up some excellent catches and baits like pellet, paste and corn are the favourites. A great place to bring your kids to learn how to fish.

Please be aware that children under the age of 16 are not allowed on the fishery unless supervised by an adult. This is for safety reasons and we must enforce this ruling.
